Red Beach Memorial Trail
Trail is in an easy nature trail to the coast. The trail is great for
bird watching, seeing whales close to the beach and possibly other
animals along the trail. The trail is approximately 1.5 km return and it
is asked that you stay on the marked trail. The trail takes you to a
beautiful beach that is maintained by volunteers. There are rest areas
along the trail through donated benches and picnic tables. (Please do
not litter!)
Pets are welcomed but must be on a leash at all times as parts of this trail
does cross private property. For a period in the trail beginning you will
pass through the Keough Family Hobby Farm which could at times contain livestock
and is signed to not feed the animals. The cliffs around the beach are steep
which is within the Plate Cove volcanic belt and under the Discovery Geo
Park. The trail was signed and opened by volunteers in 2021.
